July 11 Barrow, Northern Alaska
Traps III A and IV B were checked
in the morning and afternoon.
A forage utilization check was made
on transect IV A. The two snowowl
were once again seen in the area
but no nest could be found.
One ground squirrel study skin was
prepared and several lemmings pressed.
July 12 Transects III A + IV B checked in
morning and afternoon and both
lines were picked up in the afternoon.
Prepared study skins of three
fledglings red-backed sandpipers that
told been caught in the trap traps.
Also prepared study skin of ground
squirrel and a snow buntings.
July 13 Transects IVA and IV B laid out in the
afternoon.
Another litter of six young was
discovered in one of the square that
have lemmings in them. The little was
born to a female which has been
alone for about two weeks (see "litter of
young")
One fledgling red-backed sandpiper
prepared as study skin.
