M. Brock 1957 Journal June 25 Barrow, Northern Alaska The lab I later went out with Bill Maher who knew where the lines were located. The lines were found and will be changed on the map.* We then drove over to Volschlag slough and Marsh plot and found lines IV, VI, VII and VIII. Had the traps along to be placed out but a continual rain during the day made it undesirable to place out traps. A ground squirrel was prepared as a study skin.* Map probably correct as is marked. June 26 Most of the day was spent skinning out lemmings from Wainright and taken data on them. June 27 Morning was spent processing some more of the Wainright lemmings. Transects I and II were set out in the afternoon and then some more lemmings were processed. June 28 Transects I and II were checked with a catch of one lemmus in each. Forage utilization checks were also taken on both traplines I and II. More lemming, were processed today. An evening check of traplines one lemmings was taken in transect II. Just snowy owl was seen this evening.
