M. Brock 1957 Journal June 24 Barrow, Northern Alaska lemmings were removed from this cage. According to a label at the cage the animals were weighted on June 17 but I could not figure out which animal was which. But therefore the youngs were not observed on that date and must have been born there after; yet they look old enough to be more then one day old therefore the birthdate was established as about June 20. Due to actual known age weight of second litter I believe this date would better be June 22. the [illegible] as many lemmings were paired as possible, the rest put in separate cages. The multitude of flat skins that were set out to dry were packed away. One sabine's gull was prepared as a study skin. The treads of the 300 traps soon to be used at Barrow, were once again smear with peanut butter, bacon fat and clove oil mixture. June 25 Drove out, by myself, in a vehicle along the east side of the gas line looking for transects I did II. After reaching the locality I drove around for an hour looking for the lines; I was unable to find the lines at the locality marked on the maps. After returning to
