M. Brock Journal 1957 Athanasz, Mead River Coal Mine, Alaska June 21 All forty snap traps (spot check) were picked up with no catch. Transect V picked up in the morning with no catch waited nearly all day for the plane June 22 Barrow, Northern Alaska Cleaned up desk back at lab. Blew out skulls of numerous lemmings which had been put into water and left; they were macerating and fermenting and many labs adjacent to ours were effected by this oversight in someones part. Arranged some of the live lemmings found in various cages in the lab. June 23 Put up a skin of a least weasel raised in 1953 by Daniel Thompson. The weasel was raised to maturity, did of malnutrition and was preserved in alcohol. wrote letters and cleaned up things from Mead River June 24 Brought in more aquaria to separate as many pairs of live lemmings as possible at the bottom of one ill arranged, three occupant aquarium found a litter of 6 young.
