M. Brock 1957 Journal A.R.h. Pt. Barow, Alaska June 2 to be king and pacific eiders. A pair of both of these ducks was shot. June 3 A male king eider was prepared as a study skin. Bird was very fat. June 4 Our male Lagopus lagopus, prepared as a study skin. Went into the field with Bill Maher along the east side of the gas well line. At about ten o'clock, when we were at the south end of beach ridge, we saw a Pomarine Jaeger flying northwest. About one-half mile further east we came upon a jaeger seated on the ground—soon it was joined by another jaeger. Turning from this point and returning to A.R.h., we obtained two jaegers about one mile south of the lab. (See sp account Stercorarius pomarinus) while at the location of the first pair of jaegers, Bill and I observed a flock of about 35 snow geese flying northwest No lemmings were seen in the field and no lemmings were brought in by Chester. Bill Maher & Tom Cade went to Wainright and upon their return reported that lemmings were abundant there. Within an hour some children caught 31 lemmings.
