M. Brock 1957 Journal May 25 Left Oakland Airport for Seattle at daylight savings 6:45 P.M. Going by United Airlines we stopped briefly at Portland Oregon and arrived in Seattle at about standard time 10:15 PM. The plane leaving for Fairbanks Alaska left at 11:50 PM May 26 En route we set our watches back two hours. The flight was by Alaskan Airlines. We arrived in Fairbanks at about 5:00 in the morning. I have been traveling with Mr. Bill Maken who will be an independant investigator studying lepers at Pt. Barrow. En route I was introduced to Miss Helen Hood who will be working at the airport at Pt. Barrow. Weight allowance on the plane was 44 pounds from Oakland to Seattle and 66 pounds from Seattle to Ft. Barrow. The plane days are very long now so that at the time I our arrival (5:00) there was full daylight. The plane for Pt. Barrow does not leave until 8:00 Tomorrow morning so we took reservations in the Nordale Hotel and spent the day seeing Fairbanks May 27 The flight Today will be by Weir Airlines Took a taxi to airport, left Fairbanks
