One seen in forest SK.31B 15/3/39 Timber cutter say it is uncommon in forests. 17/3/39 I seen on bank of river near timber clearing 24/3/39 Two heard calling not a common species in the forest. 27/3/39 One heard calling in the distance. WAILU 5/5/39 Very common throughout this valley, varies much in colour. MAY. Common everywhere except in open heathlands. 12/6/39 Always present in numbers 17/6/39 Common as usual but nervous & not feeding. 19/6/39 Common as usual & actively feeding.
