Locals (halfcasts) speak of a small green parrot with a red eye streak which is common in the Bourail District (Central coastal) It may be this species. X 28/3/39. The first definite specimen of this species seen & collected. It was interested in two calls of Pachycyphola. came within 5 ft of observer + had to be shot at 26 ft. It's calls heard... an nesting hollow near by was seen. broad marks were visible. No proof except behaviour. N.B. This is Cyanorhamphus X N.B. The small olymphiicus collected on the 24th which appeared to me to be a small olymphicis with a peculiar white bar under the wings a different coloured bill, is actually the adult of this species. I believe the imm. have no crest, + the 2 specimens in Paris Museum may be imm. If not this specimen on the 24th is a new race. Locals know to recognise this bird + call it the
