13. ACCIPITER HAPLOCHROUS :- (SCLATER) A.M.N.H. has TWELVE. (12). Wants TWO. (2) Exchange value VERY GOOD. Total Permit No. SIX (6) No. for Burma 2. Remarks. This is enough. No TICKS. 14/3/39. Saw a black & white hawk very small in true original forest, (shot but lost) which could not place definitely, but may have been female of this species. SK. 32A: As a small male Accipiter was shot which had no rufous color I place it in this species, though it may be A.f. vigila. This specimen was perched near the camp which has many domestic chickens about but did not appear interested therein. 17/3/39. Some small hawk, possibly this species seen in forest margins, bad wet weather. 27/3/39. 2 males + 1 female seen & shot, female lost. Male ad + male emm. collected. WAILU 5/5/39. One female adult seen on wing over open heathland hillside, with pockets of scrub. 20/5/39. One female seen playing or wind over clouie forests behind Catholic Mission 9/6/39. 2 females + 1 male were seen in the forest in the mountains near head of Wailu River. 17/6/39. Numbers concentrated in this area where none seen before. No females seen but fully 10 males seen.
