Remarks
6/3/39.- Am not sure but believe it feeds high in forests, very active.
May be different.
20/3/39. What are believed to be this species have for several days been
seen very high in forest. Never seen low. Few about increasing
weather odd ones appear more plentiful in brief intervals
between showers.
22/3/39. One shot + lost. Has different calls to the coast. A purely
true top species.
24/3/39. Two seen + shot, very high up. Appears, same as coast.
27/3/39. One seen feeding only 15 ft up in forest. Again shot. All
others seen in high trees. Very active, feeding + calling much.
28/3/39. Many more than usual seen. Is a fair weather bird.
WAILU 3/5/39. Fairly common but not very abundant.
Up to 30/5/39. Still as before.
13/6/39. Seems to have decreased slightly in numbers.
17/6/39. None seen or heard.
19/6/39. Numbers again normal.
20/6/39. Normal.
