Remarks SINGLE RED TICK. 15/3/39 Strange calls heard somewhat like Aust. Wattle Bird may be this species. Question stays more closely this species. 21/3/39 One seen x shot. Collected. call like clearing throat but guttural. 22/3/39 One seen x collected, others seen, seems fairly plentiful. Inhabits upper & middle layers. Is curious & will come to lure calls. 24/3/39 Several seen, all high up. Appears to have no song. Calls somewhat like Philimora but less harsh. Has a "chick-chick - tebook" call. 27/3/39 Several heard. WAILU 4/5/39 Believe one of these was seen. up to 30/5/39 None seen to date but natives say it is present.
