57. CORVUS (PHYSOCORAX) MODIULODES: - (LESSON) A.M.N.H. has FIVE (5) Wants SIX (6). Exchange value GOOD Total Permit No. 10. No. for effecmea. 2. Remarks. 6/3/39. 2 small parties were heard. bets sochus from outiers for egg + chicken stealing. 14/3/39. Two parties seen, 2 adults + 2 juveniles, 1 got shot N/S for specimen. 16/3/39. a single one heard calling. 20/3/39. Generally in small parties of up to 4. Several parties seen, feeding in middle layers of forest. 24/3/39. Does not seem very common in the forest at this season. 27/3/39. Several parties heard. Much more active + noisy in fine weather. 28/3/39. Very active & noisy seems much more common than in wet weather. WAILU 4/5/39. Seems fairly common in area. 1 shot + lost. up to 30/5/39. Common about coffee cultivations + forests. Does not like + seldom visits open areas. 17/6/39. Numbers heard at a distance. Extremely excited. 19/6/39. Had left its forest to feed on caterpillars on river flats, but kept carefully to cover. Was shy & nervous in this habitat. Dives for cover if even a Photophys passed over head. 20/6/39. Still feeding about flats but very cowardly.
