Remarks: 6/3/39. common in open country, rare in forest, only seen on margins 14/3/39. Fairly numerous in true forests especially about clearings + where dead trees are present offering good perching sites 15/3/39. a few seen about forest clearing near timber getters camp. 16/3/39. 1 seen hawking high in forest. 17/3/39. Number seen feeding even in heavy rain. 20/3/39. Several seen feeding in clearings. Drushot, overall very bad. 24/3/39. Does inhabit absolute forest but prefers the clearings + more open places there in or were trees are lower. 27/3/39. None seen strangely. 28/3/39. Numbers seen feeding in forest + clearing, high up. 30/3/39. A few seen in clearings. WAICU 3/5/39. very abundant + usual. up to 30/5/39. Common + always about in numbers. 17/6/39. Smallered behaviours numbers though inclined to be widespread. 19/6/39. Normal + common.
