1 COlyMBUS RUFICOLLIS LEUCOSTERNOS:- (MAYR). A.M.N.H. HAS No Specimens WANT Ten. 10 specimens. EXCHANGE VALUE : Good TOTAL PERMIT No. 14 NO.FOR NOUMEA, 2. REMARKS Single red tick 2/2/39. Saw about twenty P on swamp alongside Chase Walter Road within 2 to 3 miles of Noumea Post Office. Birds did not seem at all disturbed by motor traffic on the road within a few feet of the swamps margin, - within 50 yds less of some birds. They become nervous immediately a car stops or natives are seen walking along the road. The swamp is full of a sum weed, & cattle feed on the rushes in it but their presence seems to disturb the birds very little.
