48. Rhipidura spilogera verreauxi - (Marie) A.M.N.H. has FOUR (4) Wants TEN (10). Exchange value GOOD. Total Permit No. 14. No. for Naurua. 2. Remarks: SINGLE RED TICK. 6/3/39. Seems very common in forest & the only species seen there. Has just finished breeding, family parties seen. Feeds at all levels but mostly below 15ft. 14/3/39. Exceedingly common in forest. 15/3/39. A number seen feeding at all levels up to 20 ft. 16/3/39. Exceeding common, feeding much, mostly below 10ft. odd above that to 20ft. more higher! & a slower moved, not as active as the other race. Lique table. SK 34A J ad ½- + [SK 34B] ♀ imm ¼ + 17/3/39. Not active except very early before dawn now. Noticed that number came to edge of tram tracks & clearings in grey light of dawn to feed. One specimen SK 35B ♀ ad ½ - refuse. 20/3/39. Numbers seen, very actively feeding between showers. Feeding at all levels & actually on the ground. Mostly below 15 ft. odd few higher. 4 specimens collected. SK 36A male ad. ½ SK 36C ♀ imm ¾ SK 36D ♀ ad. ½ -). SK 36F ♀ juv. 8 +: 24/3/39. One of the commonest species in the forest. 27/3/39. Strangely scarce this morning. Possibly being an early feeder it was full why early & inactive. Even so it not uncommon. It begins feeding in the very earliest grey light 28/3/39. Late commencing to feed. First commenced feeding on the ground itself. 30/3/39. Common & feeding at all levels, mostly middle levels. 17/6/3
