Chiles 1958 2 23 July Putnigea River, 7mi SE Cape Soling, Alaska with a few slight grassy drawings running through it and used by Microtus. Cetula mera is common and tall; Ledum is abundant. Low foliose lichens are found between the tussocks of several species, Peltigera apthoza being not common. Tussocks are very green with a great deal of growth, possibly reflecting a favorable local micro-climate than inland. No obvious reason for no M. minutus.
