After several hours it was decided that not stay and go to Cape Thompson in the morning. No moose sign around the airport. 27 July Departed about noon for Cape Thompson. Collected 3 Western 5 mulpipars at airport. Cape Thompson, Alaska Much larger camp and facilities - Seen in 1958. Big airstrip across the valley. Caught a M. oecacaus, walked to camp. Lots of sign. After eaty walked to bird cliff and scared some birds. Saw Tufted + Horned Puffins, Ptarmigan, Gyrfalcon, Glaucous Gull, Kittlitz's Murrelet, Raven Long-tailed Jaeger, Laysan Albatross, Redpoll. 28 July Walked to top of Crow-bill in fog and collected fossils. Saw an ojuit. Weather overcast & low fog, clearing Towards evening 29 July Clear and warm. Walked to Crow-bill. But still couldn't get + the birds.
