Childs 1958 27 22 Aug Pitmezer River, Cape Sabine, Alaska The last trap of the year. T1 + T3 were completed. Camp being slowly packed and prepared for the evacuation. Greater which I hope will take place at any time starting tomorrow. Weather fair. Wheat ears still present. Red phalaropes on the river after puffin 23 Aug Continual packing operations, and drying skeletal material. 24 Aug Max Britton, Max Brown, and Al Brock arrived late afternoon. Brock was left and we proceeded to Kotzebue via the Noatak Valley. Spent the night at the Winn Hotel after having Periclean Steak for supper and seeing the tan and dance. Saw 3 Moose near North Village. 25 Aug Kotzebue, Alaska Flown to Cape Thompson to talk to U.S.G.S. party involved with AEC proposed shatter blast. They took me by boat by the roostery of murres, Tufted and Horned Puffin, Kittiwakes, and Raven Gulls — a tremendous sight. Also Saw Caper, Gyrfalcon, Snow Owl, Yellow Wagtail, Wheat ear, 3 Red-spotted Bluethroat, Redpoll, Wilson Snipe, Savannah Sp. Longspur, Swallow, Microstus occipitalis and
