Chlo 1958 6 July Patwayer River, 16 miles SE Cape Sabine, Alaska in one day. A pair of Rough-leg Hawks were building a nest over a great of Day's Shoebill which were also collected. On top of this mountain Rigits were common and 9 troth an unidentified juvenile which may be a Wheatean but seems large to me. Godwits were common along the stream, some were golden plover, Semi- palmented Blore. One pair of Cukens and one pair of Dovitiches were seen. True and White crane span, Redpolls, and Pectoral Sundgipes were abundant. One single, a band of 7, and a herd of 300 Cukin were seen. No wolf or bear trails seen. The valley of the Northfork is not as wide and the vegetation is more lush than along the main stream. Whether this accounts for the number of unusual species occurring there is problematical. 7 July Skinned most of the day. Then went back to hunt for the robin - missed again. Very windy. Got a 3D Pileated Warbler. The shrikes had fledged. In taking pictures of one young, The 4 hit me on the head 3 times. Marle got 2 Microtus occidentis in the own trap line. Our Cantron supply is getting rapidly disiblown and manggy.
