conti Blair 1975 Journal 2.0 mi. E. Big Pine, Inyo Co., California October 14. Left for Angeles about 9:00 A.M. and drove North to Big Pine on Route 14 and 395, arriving about 2:30 pm. Set up camp at Baker Creek camp ground, 3/4 mi. W. of Big Pine, arrived to set traps at 6:00 pm Sun set at 5:42, but it remained light for some time. Set a "grid" of 6 lines, 4 line of 18 traps and 2 lines of 14 traps, at 10 m. intervals. 102 traps in all. Moon is nearly full. Aztyral Temperature in the mid-70's; The nights are in the mid- 30° F's. Overcast much of the night. Began pulling up traps at 7:20. Catch: 1 Cupidomys depetzi (marked), 3 D. merriami (1 marked); 9 R murrops (4 marked); 2 O mychoya torredes (marked); total 15 animals, 12 marked from my trapping of September 26-27. As compared to that date, there is little overall change in species composition. Returned at 5:00 pm and re-set my grid of 100 traps. It is cooler and windier today; will probably be clear tonight.
