Sept 29.
was just below freezing. The moon
set about 2 hrs after sunset, and an approx:
10 mph wind blew throughout the night.
Sept 30.
This morning caught the following:
9 Dipodomys ordii, 6 D. microps, 4
Perognathus merri (?), 3 Onychomys
leucogaster, 3 Perognathus longimembris
1. Perogy sp. and 1 Microdipodops
pallidus. All but 1 of the D.
microps was taken from the North
side of the road, where only 35°
Frogs were set. Holostat close wind
blown sand in low dunes (5 ft) and
broke bed, very alkali. Saecolates
and two sp. of Astrilex, prob.
canescens and confertifolia were
abundant, plus a sticky bush,
in man-altered areas. All the
Astrilex confertifolia was turning
red, while the one with desert
edges on its brots was still green.
Left about 10:00 for the next
locality.
