Spotted Towhee
June 1 Queen's Hill State Park, Mendocino Co., Calif., elev. 204 ft.
Individual seen feeding on pine barren
on north slope of canyon. Vegetation about
consisted of grass, huckleberry, Gaultheria,
Rhododendron, Salalber Dec. Chinquapin,
Bristle Pine and Pygmy Cypress. Were
were first noted in vicinity of Bas -
pin Gulch by observer. Heard later -
low bzzzzz - in Rhododendron. June 7, 1941,
of a bright sunny day.
