Bandtailed Pigeon
May 22 Russian Gulch State Park, Mendocino Co., Calif.
Elevation 200 ft. In pine barren at top of north slope of canyon, a flock of 100 or more pigeons were occupying the Carya
muricata. At this same birds had been noted above our camp. Appearance is so: large-gray-bodied birds, with small heads on slender necks, like domestic Pigeons. Band or tail is noticeable when birds spread tail in alighting on trees.
