Brownish bird about size of White-breasted Nut-hatch seen on Douglas fir; flew to Cinnis marcata. Horked around and around the trunk of the tree in spiral fashion, always upward. Flew closer to another pine and its markings became visible - white ves-miculations down a brown back. Slender body and slender rather long bill. Song was warbling then and sweet.
