May 29 Cedar Grove S. Fork Kings R. 4600 ft., Fresno Co., Calif.
Set 22 traps (Museum Special Mouse Traps)
just north and across highway from ranger's station at Cedar Grove, at base of mountain. Caught 1 q Ceromyscus boylii, with 4 abdominal mammae and no embryo, in a trap set under a fallen tree near manzanita and Penicillium (?) on a sandy hillside.
May 31. Cedar Grove S. Fork Kings R. 4600 ft., Fresno Co., Calif.
Set 15 Museum Special Mouse Traps along that fork Sheep Creek just above bridge near junction of fork with S. Fork Kings R. Traps were set along N. bank under rocks, incense cedar, golden oak, sugar and yellow pine and logs. Caught 2 Ceromyscus boylii: 1 q with testes 13 mm., 1 q with no embryo, but with 2 abdominal mammae. q was trapped 10 ft. from stream at the base of two Golden Oaks on the sloping bank of the creek. She q was trapped beneath a fallen log 20 ft. from the stream on a north facing slope covered with pine needles and mountain mairy.

Set 15 Museum Special Mouse traps in same place as May 31. Caught 1 q Ceromyscus boylii with 12 mm. testes in trap set under fallen log 30 ft. from stream, on north facing slope covered by Mountain Mairy and pine needles. No. 119.
