June 3 Cedar Grove, S. Fork Kings R., 4600 ft., Fresno Co., Calif.
Peromyscus, 1 of which I skinned (no. 131). Both were & with 10mm. tees, wt. 21.2 and
22.0 respectively - evidently young adult males.
Muri, Bob and Ida had set their traps north of the road, nearer the river (400-
500 yards from river) Jean and I had set in about the same sort of habitat -
Artemesia and Manzanita, - south of
the road and nearer the north facing slope
of the canyon. (Ida had also caught Peromyscus). He returned to camp, breakfasted
and skinned till 10:00. Jean found another
gopher in traps set south of camp at the base of the mountain.
June 3 Camp Azalea, General Grant Headquarters,
6700 ft., Fresno Co., Calif.
He broke camp in late forenoon, left Cedar Grove for General Grant Headquarters.
Harvey and Bob took the truck, Jean and Ida rode in Ida's car, while Muri and I rode with Mrs. Grunnell. Harvey sug-
gested that we see June Lake - a sort of historic spot. He turned off the road at the junction of Kings R. Highway with June Lake rd. and proceeded to the lake which is quite artificial-looking.
Mrs. Grunnell had car trouble.
