still in breeding condition but q Peromyscus have no emb., usually 4 mammas,
and young Peromyscus are fairly numerous. Traps were collected. He planned
all morning I prepared the Sorex ornatus which Fisher &
I had caught yesterday afternoon
Storer collected while we collected our
traps. At 1:00 P.M. I went up to wash and
to my horror found a q Entomias quadrivittata in the latrine (Drowned). It
made a good skin despite its gruesome death (ms. 126). At 4:30, Jean Bussock
and I set out for the place where we had
set our traps on the preceding night. He
searched for the Dippers (I had seen a pair
near where I collected my traps). He
returned at 6:20 P.M., had dinner. Then
Fisher, Storer, J Bussock, M. Redon, Ida
DeMay and I set traps near the beginning
of the trail to Grooming R. Falls. Weather cloudy.

At 6:00 A.M. collected traps. Had set 20 Mu -
samm Special Mouse traps 1 mi. W of mouth of
Grooming R. in manzanita and Artemesia, near
Pseudotsuga, 4800 ft. elev. Caught nothing. M.
Redon caught 3 Peromyscus, 1 of which I
skinned (No. 130). Bob Storer had caught 2
