June 1 Cedar Grove, S. Fork Kings R., 4600 ft. Fresno Co., Calif.
caught in the S. bank of the S. Fork of Kings
River, midway between the CCC camp and
Sheep Creek Campgrounds. The bank is
heavily covered with small - 4 - 10 ft -
Incense Cedar, and large rocks. Pine
needles litter the forest floor. The area is
in a north facing slope, shaded during
the greater part of the day. Ground is damp.
On the return trip I saw little of note -
Robins, Coast Teller Jays and 7 lizards
are memorou. At 7:15pm, Ida De May,
Jean Russell and I took Museum
Special Mouse traps to the end of the
road in Sheep Creek Campgrounds. I set
18 Museum Special Mouse Traps on the
south bank of the S. Fork Kings River.
The traps were laid at the bases of trees
and rocks 1 - 20 ft from water.
Weather today sunny, warm, varying wind.

Dr. Fisher and Bob Storrs arrived
during the night with the museum truck.
After watching the stars for several hours,
I was distracted by the bright lights of
