Party of six - Mr. Dixon, Ida de May, Frances Ogilvi, Jen Breach, Marie Aidan and me-
set 200 traps in Zumwalt Meadows. Each
of us except Mr. Dixon had 27 Muscan
Special Mouse Traps and 3 rat traps. Mr.
Dixon set 51 traps. I caught 1 Oeronymus-
cas truci in a trap set just below the
talus slope at the point end of the meadow
between an alder and a huge rock. 19
Micratus, was caught in my traps set
at the west end of the meadow, ten feet
from the alder, beneath a rose bush.
There was considerable grass around. Of
the rest of its traps, ten more were set
at the west end of the meadow (Grand
about the alders). Four were set just
below the talus at the east end of the meadow.
Eleven were set in the willow thicket between
the two traps which caught the animals.
None of the other mouse traps caught any-
thing. A rat trap set in the willow-thicket
mouse
also caught nothing. Two of the rat traps
had been sprung. After collecting our traps
we ate lunch at the east end of the meadow.
We crossed the bridge (suspension) over the
South Fork of King R. to the opposite bank
to hunt lizards. The same flock of Purple
