Crowley 1942 Journal May 25 Cedar Grove, S. Fork Kings R., 4600 ft., Fresno Co., Calif. Traps near the talus slope, eleven Museum Special Mouse Traps on the willows thicket plus one rat trap, and Twelve at the west end of the meadow beneath rose bushes, in alders and at the base of a log. He returned to camp at 6:30. A list of the birds and flora to our follows. Weather: clear till 2-3:00 P.M. when clouds which had been hanging over the Mountain Divide came over the canyon and a little rain fell. Note: traps were baited with a gooey con- pound of peanut-butter base shot through with oatmeal. This sort of bait was used at Zinnwald, and on the south- facing slope of the canyon. Bear visited camp late this night. Upset grub box, ate some grapefruit. Mrs. Grunnell tried him and scared him by a hailstorm of grape fruit.
