Speckle agrees or at least does not dis-
age with this description. At the sign "Kings Canyon National Park"
a pair of Junco flew from the ground
into a Sugar Pine. A gray bird
somewhat filling my concept of a Vireo
with light wing bars, gave forth a
whistly song from the depths of a
Sugar Pine. At 1:45 I was back
below
at the bridge above the Falls, at -
tempting to catch another Sceloporus.
Marie had eaten lunch, after strug-
gling after me up the trail with all
the luggage, but returning when she
could not find us. After a brief glimpse
at the Calorpe, and after I had
lunch, we returned down the trail,
hunting Sceloporus on the way. He
saw a beautiful Persian blue skunk
about 6-8 inches long, on a large rock.
He closed in on it with one move but
the skunk was quicker than the hand.
A Mountain Chickadee was seen down
in a ravine, flying from branch to
branch of a small oak tree. A pair
was seen feeding in a Pine. A Calamara-
