Crowley 1942 Journal May 22 Cedar Grove, S. Fork Kings R., #600 ft., Fresno Co., Calif. May 22, 1942 a bird singing from the top of a pine - similar to the Hermit Warbler heard and seen May 22. Flying high above the trees we saw a Turkey Vulture flying high above the trees. At the rock pile where we stopped several minutes, I saw a chipmunk with the two brown stripes standing out clearly. It was standing on a large rock in the middle of a rocky slope above the trail. After dinner M. Redon and I set Museum Special Mouse Traps northeast of the Ranger Station & across the bridge from our camp. We saw the q Robin in the nest in the Yellow Pine east of the bridge. After setting our traps we returned to camp. On our way we saw several bats. After arriving at camp, we wrote notes until 9:30. Weather during day warm, somewhat cloudy. Nights somewhat chilly.
