J Crowley (94) Peromyscus maniculatus May 18 Russian Gulch State Park, Mendocino Co, Calif. Elevation 40 feet. 4 mile east of ocean on road leading east through canyon. 6 specimens trapped in area just on north bank of creek at border of grass- land and bushes - elderberry, thimble- berry (x). 6 out of 23 traps (from which we also got 1 shrew and 1 Zapus). Pigny Cypress Redwoods Lowland Fir X Berry bushes Grassland Red Alden Creek leading E to ocean Topography of area about Russian Gulch State Park May 19 Russian Gulch State Park, Mendocino Co, Calif. 6 P. maniculatus found in traps set 1/2 mile East of ocean along road leading east thru canyon.. 6 out of 23 traps of which 11 whole were occupied; 4 sprung with no catch, rest empty and sprung. May 20 1 mile east of ocean Russian Gulch State Park, Mendocino Co, Calif 35 Peromyscus caught west of complex riparian habitat - 3 out of 22 traps set, of which 10 had catches May 21 1/2 mile east of ocean Russian Gulch State Park, Mendocino Co, Calif. 11 of Peromyscus found in 27 occupied traps of 51 set. 2 Peromyscus discarded due to injury.
