June 22 - Boca, 5500 ft., Nevada Co., Calif. - Several heard singing in the narrow willow riparian strip along the tumbling Truckee River.
June 24 - Cisco Grove, 5650 ft., on S. Fork Yuba R., Placer Co., Calif.
July 5 - I heard singing in or near dense growth of willow, creek dogwood, & herbs between tall black cottonwoods and a quiet portion of the stream.
June 25 - Valley just S Sierraville, Sierra Co., Calif. - 2 singing [illegible] riparian woodland bordering grassy fields.
June 27 - Reno, 450 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. - 2 singing in Lake wild Park (which is well watered & has a lake).
June 28 - E side Boca Res, 5600 ft., Nevada Co., Calif. - 2 seen & heard singing, in a near wet grassy swales bordering dry sagebrush slopes (shrubs).
June 30 - Donner Trail Sch., 6030 ft., on S. Fork Yuba R., Nevada Co., Calif. - 1 heard singing in tall, dense willow thickets along quiet part of stream. This is the highest altitude W of Sierran crest that I have found the species this season.
July 8 - Cisco Grove [see above] - 3 heard singing.
July 10 - E side Boca Res. [see above] - 1 " " also on July 24.
July 22 - Cisco Grove [see above] - 3 seen (1 a singing ♂, 1 a fledgling being fed by an adult).
July 23 - Kings Beach, 6250 ft., Mend Lake Tahoe, Placer Co., Calif. - 1 singing from willows along small stream by edge of conifer forest & grassy meadow (golf course). This is the highest altitude at which I have recorded the sp. E of the Sierran crest.
