June 28 (late am) E side Boca Res [see above] - about 20 found in
2 hrs spent walking slowly across sage brush - antelope brush flat. Several were in song; some fledglings so small that they I must be of this sp. were found scuttling among the bushes.
July 10 about 10 found on a similar coverage.
2 NESTS, each with 3 bright blue eggs, were also found. They are placed in the region of abruptly spreading branches about 6 inches to a foot below the leaf canopy of Artemisia tridentata bushes. The shrub canopy density near the nests is not over 35%, the interstices being pebbly ground or sparse herds.
July 11 A third NEST with 3 eggs found in a similar location nearby.
July 24 about 20 (including several fledglings + some apparently independent juveniles) in this same area. 2 singing, 2 Two were heard singing [none singing on July 10].
