July 20 near Sugar Bowl Lodge, 7000 ft., 1.2 mi. SSW Donner Pass,
July 24 Placer Co., Calif. - "Tick" calls heard in red fir-silver
pine forest bordering herb & willow covered slope.
A normal date for up mountain wanderers (cf June 19)
July 21 N. side Bear Valley, 4500 ft., Nevada Co., Calif. - 3 heard
calling (no songs now - cf June 23) on 1 hr visit.
July 27 7150 ft., 3/4 mi. W Donner Pass, Placer Co., Calif - 1 ? seen
in tall willows & bitter cherry between clumps
of white fir, lodgepole & Jeffrey pines. No song heard!

aug. 15) Donner Pass-Summit Valley-Sugar Bowl areas, 6750-7000 ft.,
Nevada & Placer Cos, Calif. - Frequent records at various
points in conifer forest & riparian thickets or tall
cherry bushes. ?? or imm. only rarely seen. None after aug. 15!!
Aug. 4 N. side Bear Valley, 4500 ft., Nevada Co., Calif - about 5
heard calling, 1 ? seen, in 1/2 hr spent along forest
bordering meadow (same area as on June 23, July 21).
None found along S.E. side of valley on a visit there
on aug. 19.
