Aug. 18 S.E. end Bear Valley, 4600 ft., Placer Co., Calif. - 3 on grassy meadow (cf. July 21/ before).
Aug. 21 Crosser Cr., 5650 ft., 1 1/3 mi. E., 3 1/2 mi. N Truckee, Nevada Co., Calif. - flock of 200+ foraging grazed on grassy flat near creek. When flushed, they flew and wheeled in close formation, which is characteristic of autumn activities of the species elsewhere.
Aug. 23 S. of Reno, Little Washoe L., Washoe Co., Nev. - small groups in grassy farm fields and on shores of the now greatly receded and algal- rimmed Lake.
Tahoe Meadows, 8500 ft., Carson Range, Washoe Co., Nev. flock of about 20 on green meadow (mostly low sedges) near a few horses pastured there.
Aug. 25 - 26 L. Van Norden vicinity (see pp. 1-2) - no large flock noted, but several small ones.
