June 18 var. times- Lodge & vicinity p.m.- Lake Van Norden (N. side) ; Soda Springs (near dam) June 19 - Lodge & adjacent forest a.m.- Lodge & adjacent forest; Cowgill Meadow June 20 0800-1000 - Lake Van Norden (meadow E of it, plus along N shore by car); Soda Springs (near dam). 1500-1700 - repeat: Lake Van Norden & Soda Springs 1030-1145 - N. bases of Disney Mtn. & Crow's Nest peak. June 21 - 0820-0955 - S. slope Signal Hill 1010-1210 - Lodge to Sugar Bowl (up via W side, back via E) June 22 0815-0950 - above Snow Lab (only visit here). 1010-1205 - N. base of Disney & Crow's Nest 1910-2030 - E. of Boca Reservoir June 23 0900-1120 - Emigrant Gap (N slope); Bear Valley (N side, plus briefer stop at SE end); "S. of Camp Spaulding" 1400-1600 - Cowgill Meadow; N base Crow's Nest peak. June 24 0358-0630 - Cowgill Meadow (S border); N base Disney & Crow's Nest peaks (for morning bird song chorus -- see p. of this Journal for recording of awakening times, etc.). 0830-0945 - Cisco Grove 1025-1145 - W. end Donner Lake June 25 0900 & ff.- enroute (no observations except from car) from Truckee to Sierra ville via State Hwy 89, thence W & N to Sattley, Sierra Co. (stopped about ½ hour about 1 mi. N Sattley) 1000-1400 - Sierra Valley Ranch (Mr. Macmillan, owner) (spent most of this time wading across flooded grassland of central part of valley) 1400-1745 - enroute from last thru Vinton, Plumas Co., & E to US Route 395, S. to Reno & W. to Donner Pass.
