Cogswell 1950 Icterus bullockii June 27 - Yellewild Park, 4500 ft. Reno, Washoe Co., Nev. - I heard singing & calling in cottonwoods & lombardy poplars near river. July 12 - Call notes only, on a similar 15 min. stop today. Aug. 6 - 4750 ft. 1 mi. S Genoa, Douglas Co., Nev. - at a series of 5 or 6 scattered Fremont cottonwoods along the road irrigation ditch. Here there was an active family of 4+ well grown young being fed by pair of adults. They flew from tree to tree & finally out onto tops of sagebrush and other bushes a few hundred feet away. The young were quite noisy, but appeared to have full length tails. The 2 did little of the feeding. - Carson City, 4700 ft., Ormsby Co., Nev. - 1? in shade trees of the capitol plaza. - E. of Washoe Lake, 5050+ ft., Washoe Co., Nev. - 2 ?? seen open in sagebrush country, but within few hundred yards of a ranchhouse with cottonwood trees.
