(1 of them seen well) in large black oak just within edge of yellow pine - incense cedar forest.

7150 ft., 3/4 mi. W Donner Pass, Placer Co., Calif. - 1 heard singing from dense thicket of bitter cherry, tobacco brush, and small aspens - with scattered Jeffrey pines & white firs nearby. S facing slope.

1 heard singing from tall black cottonwoods where mixed with a few lodgepole & Jeffrey pines.

near Sugar Bowl Lodge, 7000 ft., 1.2 mi., SSW Donner Pass, Placer Co., Calif. - 1 seen in forest clump (cedar fir - lodgepole & sives pines) at border of willow thickets of wet "Cowgill Meadow". It was singing.

I am surprised to find these obviously up mtn migrants still singing fairly lustily.
