Prosser Creek valley, 5650-5700 ft., 1 1/3 mi. E, 3 1/2 mi.
N Truckee, Nevada Co., Calif. -- in west. part of Sec.,
25, T 18 N, R 16 E.
VEG. TYPES: Great Basin sagebrush formation on
upland slopes N of valley (Artemisia tridentata,
Purshia tridentata, Chrysanthmus); coarse grassland
on valley floor (few hundred feet [illegible] wide), with few
scattered willow clumps; slopes S & NE of valley
with arid conifer forest (Pinus jeffreyi, Artemisia
tridentata). Stream is gentle, but riffles over cob-
blestone rapids at places. Whole area similar on
small scale to Little Truckee River valley (q.v.).
