June 17 - near Sugar Bowl Lodge, 7000 ft., 1.2 mi. 55W Donner Pass, Glacer Co.
Calif - 3 heard singing in 1/4 mi. of fairly dense lodge-pole pine-red fir forest, north snow still covering all except a few small areas in openings around bases of trees, etc. - 1 of these seen singing from top of 150ft. traverse
red fir just after sundown on 18th.
June 19 - after I "squeaked", one which had been singing ceased, a (the same?) one appeared promptly in lower branches of lodgepoles + firs over my head + scolded "chik"; snow over most of forest floor here also.
June 20 - 2 heard singing in late a.m. on a 2215 ft. traverse of red fir-white pine-lodgepole pine forest + 4 small clearings, some felled with alders..
This is on a N-facing slope, with still plenty of snow.
These 2 are across a 700-900 ft.-wide meadow from those noted on 17th. %Same area covered on June 23.
June 23 - 5100 ft., 1/2 mi. S Lake Spaulding, Nevada Co. Calif - 2 heard singing (late a.m.) in tall, dense forest of white fir, yellow + sugar pines, + incense cedar-on N-facing slope.
June 29 8E.of Mary J., 7100ft., 1/2 mi. S Donner Pass, Glacer Co. Calif - 1 heard (a.m.) singing from pathby red+white fir, lodgepole pine-white pine forest.
(p.m.) Ice Lakes, 6900 ft., 3 mi.W, 1 mi. S Donner Pass, Glacer Co. Calif.

July 11 - Ice Lakes to 1+ mi. S, 6900-6500ft., - 3 heard singing in tall, denser forest areas at dawn.
