July 25 near Sugar Bowl Lodge, 7000 ft. [see p.] - 1 in willow thickets at edge of wet "Cowgill meadow" was giving a subdued and hesitating song. Another called nearly.
July 29- I heard calling in same willow & brush area.

aug.5 Lisco Groove, 5650 ft., on S. Fork Yuba River, Glacer Co., Calif. - 1 seen in dead brush, creek dogwood, & willow thicket along stream
aug.11 NE. of Mary Lake [see p.] - 2 seen in min. alder thicket
- Big Bend Camp Trd., 5800 ft., on S Fork Yuba R., Glacer Co., Calif. - 1 in dense, moist thickets on S slope near stream in opening of tall, dark forest.

etc. brush on moist S facing slope.
aug.25 near Mary Lake [see p.] - 1 in willows near lake
& forest edge.
General: I am satisfied that the House wren does not nest regularly at localities of Donner Pass altitude. All the above records except that of June 24, are probably of wandering birds.
