from North
1044 - adult flew in, bounding, & alighted on bark-covered
limbs on N. side of nest tree. Then around
to limbs near nest, calling one "see".
1045 1/2 - Returned to smaller lodgepole pine N. of
Nest tree.
1047 - Back on limbs near nest, working back &
forth on bark covered line 5 ft from Nest.
1048 1/2 - flew NW out of Nest tree (without having
gone to Nest?).
1052 - I flew into Nest tree, alighting on bare limbs
below outward (SE) from N; hopped up
to next limb, then flew away again to
North. Baseally Jim too close. I move
back 10 ft. to base of lodgepole pine (42 ft.
E. of nest tree).
1053 1/2 - bird creeping up trunk of Nest tree 15 ft from base.
went to North limb, then flew to N. side of tree
& foraged along barkless & barbed branches
30 - 35 ft. from ground.
1058 1/2 - I again foraging on branches in SW part
of nest tree a few feet from Nest. Flew off to
W without going to nest (Denis Cogswell
& Tommy Harville came to this post in
last few minutes, & we talked, making
considerable disturbance).
1101 - observer moved to 30+ ft. WSW of nest tree.
1103 1/2 - S singing in N side of N tree:
1104 - "" " closer to N, often into N. out
in about 6 seconds
