Aug. 5 S. & E. "suburbs" of Reno, Washoe Co., Nev. - several dozen seen in farmland & over residential areas.
- Floriston, 5300 ft., on Truckee R., Nevada Co., Calif.
many flying up & down over river in this rocky canyon area at dusk.
Aug. 6 N. end Washoe Lake, 5010ft, Washoe Co., Nev. - several flying over grassland - marsh area (far from any buildings or bridges).
Aug. 7 Boca Res., 5560 ft., Nevada Co., Calif. - only about 30 noted near the nesting colony & over the same sagebrush area where 150 noted 2 weeks ago.
Aug.13 L. Van Norden [see p.2] -- about 10 present.
Aug.15 at least 15 present today, the commonest swallow here now that most of the Tree Swallows have (apparently) gone.
Aug.17 Little Truckee R., 5800 ft. [see p.2] - 2+ seen flying near the steel bridge, on which there are about 10 nests.
