Stelgidopteryx rufipennis
June 22 - Boca, 5500 ft., Nevada Co., Calif. - at least 4 or 5 birds
of this sp. were mixed with the more numerous
cliff swallows foraging over Truckee River and
nearby sagebrush & forest border. I think they
nest in a 40 ft. high gravelly dirt bank just S
and below Boca Dam.
June 28 - Several seen below dam, flying close to the bank
mentioned above.
July 10 Ditto. One person in my car saw a "swallow" fly
into a hole in this bank.
Aug. 5 E. end of Reno, 4500 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. - 2+ flying
over farmland among suburban residences, a few
blocks from Truckee River.
