They perched on small rocks and on pinyons, but also did quite a lot of hooting. Aug. 6 N. end Washoe Lake, 5010 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. 2 foraging together over wind swept sandy beach & drier alkali dotted flat just above it. They utilized an old rusty fence (posts and wires) for perches as well as the ground at some distance from it.
