Cogswall 1950 Sayornis saya July 12 Geiger Lookout 5360 ft., Virginia Range E Steamboat Springs, Washoe Co., Nevada. - 2 were foraging dry close to each other over a 2-3 acre, grassy spot on gentle slope among pinyons & junipers. They perched on small rocks and on pinyons, but also did quite a lot of hooting. Aug. 6 N. end Washoe Lake, 5010 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. 2 foraging together over wind swept sandy beach & drier alkali dotted flat just above it. They utilized an old rusty fence (posts and wires) for perches as well as the ground at some distance from it.
