July 9 1 mi. NE Meyers, Eldorado Co., Calif - 1 ad. ♂ flew onto the trunk of a small lodgepole pine,
lighting very close to the ground. The forest is sand-
and lodgepole - Jeffrey pine type.
July 14 7100 ft. 1/3 mi. S Donner Pass, Placer Co., Calif - 1 im-
mature (white-throated) male seen in border of
dense firs & pines near Mary Lake.
July 26 Nevada Creek Camp, 6600 ft., Washoe Co., Nev.: 1 ♂ in
Jeffrey pine amid fairly dense stand of same
+ many white firs, + black cottonwoods.
Aug. 6 N side Lake Tahoe, Eldorado Co., Calif - 1 ♂ flew
across road & alighted on bole of Jeffrey pine
in edge of dense forest.
Aug. 11 7100 ft.; 1/3 mi. S Donner Pass - 1 ♂ (ad. ?) seen in same
area as on July 14
Aug. 17 near Sugar Bowl Lodge, 7000 ft., 1.2 mi. SSW Donner
Pass, Placer Co., Calif - 1+ ♂ seen in dense red
fir - silver pine forest on N facing slope.
Aug. 25 7100 ft., 1/3 mi. S Donner Pass - 1 ♂ seen near
Mary Lake (see July 14, Aug. 17),
