Cogswell 1950 Chaetura vauxi July 4 - Donner Lake, 5950 ft., Nevada Co., Calif. - at least 4 (11:30 a.m.) were flying together (or 2 a few min. later) over the tall forest trees just S of the W half of the lake. They were obviously foraging & in no hurry to get on away from the area. A few weak chipping calls were given by 1 or more of them. July 11 E side Boca Reservoir, 5600 ft., Nevada Co., Calif. at least 4 were seen (at one time) mixed in with foraging group of cliff & other? Swallows over sagebrush flat near the reservoir. There were silent while we observed them (Lloyd Ingles, John Willis & I).
