Cogswell 1950 asio flammeus Aug 10 Washoe Valley, 5010 ft., Washoe Co., Nevada 2 were flushed from the now drying tule (Scirpus sp.) marshes about ¼ to ½ mile N.W. Big Washoe Lake. They flew around for some minutes after being scared up, but always kept over the short grassland or tules. A few small ponds still have water in the marsh.
